What happens when you rebuild the most important pages of a beloved pet brand’s Shopify store from the ground up? For Jackson Galaxy, the cat behaviorist, TV personality, and founder of a thriving pet accessory brand, the answer was a 53% jump in overall conversion rate and a 249% surge in collection page conversions within the first 10 days of launch.

When Jackson Galaxy’s team came to Future Holidays, they had four clear goals: grow Average Order Value (AOV) to directly impact profitability, increase revenue through smarter UX across the menu, homepage, product pages, and collection pages, convert more incoming traffic into paying customers, and improve on-site usability to reduce friction and get more shoppers all the way through checkout.

The results didn’t come from a single tweak. They came from a full rethinking of how customers move through the site, from the moment they land on the homepage to the second they check out.

The Challenge

Jackson Galaxy’s brand had built a passionate, loyal fanbase. Traffic wasn’t the problem.

But growth in traffic wasn’t translating to growth in sales. Several underlying issues were holding the store back:

  • Templates that underserved the funnel. The existing homepage, collection pages, and menu weren’t built to guide users toward purchase. Key shopping signals (product discovery, urgency cues, cart pathways) were either buried or absent.
  • A mobile experience that lagged behind. With mobile accounting for the majority of the new traffic surge, a suboptimal mobile experience meant a significant portion of visitors were bouncing before engaging meaningfully.
  • Blog traffic diluting conversion data. Year-over-year, blog readership exploded with a whopping 211% increase. These information-seeking visitors, while valuable for brand awareness, weren’t purchasing, which dragged down the site’s overall conversion rate.
  • Manual promotional processes creating errors. The team was relying on manual implementation for sales and campaigns, leading to mistakes, inefficiencies, and missed revenue windows.
  • No personalization engine in place. Without behavioral data or AI-driven recommendations, the site had no way to tailor the experience to returning customers or high-intent shoppers.

Our Approach

We focused our efforts on three interconnected pillars: redesigning the core shopping templates, optimizing the promotional strategy, and layering in AI-powered personalization.

How Rebuilding Three Key Pages Drove a 53% Lift in Conversions Overnight

Launched on May 21st, the redesigned Menu, Collection, and Home page templates represented the most significant structural change to the site. Rather than surface-level visual updates, these were built around conversion intent and placing the right products, offers, and calls-to-action in front of the right users at the right moment.

The impact was immediate. Within days of launch, the site recorded peak conversion rates of 3.19% on May 25th and 3.08% on May 26th. Compared to the previous period, the overall conversion rate climbed 53%, from 1.13% to 1.73%.

The collection page redesign delivered the most dramatic results post-launch. Compared to the prior period, bounce rate dropped 16%, meaning significantly more visitors were staying to explore. From there, the funnel improvements were substantial: “Add to Cart” rate increased 143%, Reached Checkout jumped 198%, Completed Checkout rose 17%, and Conversion Rate surged 249%.

These numbers reflect a page that finally matched the intent of users who arrived ready to browse and buy.

The homepage also moved the needle. ATC rate improved 25%, Reached Checkout Rate rose 16%, and Conversion Rate increased 10% versus the prior period. Across all device categories, the shopping funnel showed broad gains: ATC up 42%, Reached Checkout up 53%, and overall Conversion Rate up 53%.

On mobile, ATC increased 32%, Reached Checkout improved 43%, and Conversion Rate grew 39%. Given that mobile was the primary source of new visitors, making the mobile experience more conversion-friendly was critical to sustaining growth.

Smarter Promotions, Less Frictions

We overhauled the promotional strategy alongside the template work. Dynamic promotional banners were added across key touchpoints on the homepage, product detail pages, and the cart so that active offers were consistently visible throughout the customer journey.

We also advised shifting major promotions away from weekends, where engagement and conversion rates had historically been softer, toward higher-performing windows. And rather than running broad sitewide sales, we recommended narrowing the scope: smaller, more targeted promotions that felt curated rather than commoditized, preserving the perceived value of each offer. This also eliminated the manual implementation errors that had been costing the team time and revenue.

The AI Layer That Contributed 13% of Sales and Boosted AOV by 15%

To build a more personalized experience, and to generate the data needed to keep improving it, we integrated Rebuy, an AI-driven personalization and recommendation engine.

Rebuy contributed 13.33% of total sales and 20.62% of total orders for the month. It also drove a 15.39% increase in AOV. The highest-revenue modules were the Smart Cart and Build Your Box widgets. From a conversion standpoint, Build Your Box led at 5.57%, followed by the Post Purchase module at 3.69%. The Dynamic Bundle widget on the product page rounded out the top three.

A Foundation Built to Scale

By rebuilding the templates that matter most, sharpening the promotional strategy, and layering in AI-driven personalization, we turned a high-traffic store into a high-converting one.

The 53% lift in overall conversion rate, the 249% surge on collection pages, and the 15.39% AOV boost via Rebuy aren’t just metrics — they’re evidence of a customer journey that now works. And with Rebuy generating ongoing behavioral data, the foundation is in place to keep making it better.
